The SERC held International Conference
on China Electricity Regulations in Beijing New Century
Hotel in Sept. This meeting achieved a complete success.
Eachtech, as only company of non-electricity industry,
was invited by the SERC to attend the theme meeting
and was also specially invited to take part in the “Theme
Seminar of Power Market in the Northeast Region”.

The experts from home and abroad fully
expressed their ideas at this conference, and extensively
discussed issues on construction of Northeast region power
market, and put forward many constructive opinions, especially
on power network security and trading pattern design, which
the experts were also very concerned.
When discussing if the big blackout in the east of America
and Canada would affect the construction of Chinese power
market, Eachtech senior advisor Prof. Li Wenyuan, who is the
Fellow member of IEEE specially flew from Canada to attend
this conference and expressed his opinions. He analyzed the
latest official report on 8.14 Blackout in America and Canada
published on the 12th of Sep., he thought that this blackout
had no necessary relation with the power market. Regarding
the power network of New York, two similar blackout have happened
before the market was built. After dozens years of construction
of Northeast China power network, many compellent rules and
regulations have been made for security’s reason, all the
main bodies participating in the power market follow the original
regulations, therefore, the blackout accident happening in
America and Canada won’t occur in China.
On other issues of the power market construction in the
northeast region, Prof. Li well networked with experts from
home and abroad and put forward his own opinions.
The conference atmosphere was very passionate and issues
discussed extensive and profound. But for reasons of limited
time, not all the issues have been fully discussed at this
conference. Eachtech, as a Canadian company involving in power
market quotation supporting software, has edited all the other
issues that haven’t been discussed and is willing to network
with the persons of insight who are interested in the construction
of Chinese power market and make their own contribution to
this field.
The stone from other mountain can break the precious jade.
During China’s power market construction, the introduction
of foreign experience is very necessary and beneficial. Professor
Li has been involved in the construction of the power market
construction in North America, and has in-depth knowledge
on reliability study of electricity system and economy operation
of power plant. He hopes to make contribution to his motherland
from the bottom of his heart.
This conference was a very successful one and also a very
necessary one. In China’s electricity revolution history,
it would leave a heavy stroke on it. The open and practical
work style of the SERC will surely push forward the electricity
reform of our country and make it continuously enhance and
improve till its last success.
I wish the power industry in China a prosperous and vigorous
development！
